I do not object to the President's wife being called the First Lady. I look upon it as a term of respect.Feminists, do you object to the President's wife being called the First Lady?
I'm a ';lady'; and have no problem with it....why would anyone be upset about the term ';First Lady';?
Hillary Clinton is a feminist and was a ';First Lady';
P.S. I agree with Rio Madeira :)
Boy, are you whacked out.
When Hillary wins, will Bill will be the First Laddie?
Since when is ';lady'; an offensive term? Chick, babe, girl, these, in the right instance, can all be a bit offensive, but lady? I would rather be called a lady (given the linguistic origins of the word) than some other titles.
Feminists prefer only that a woman be president. They don't care about convention.
call me
As long as Bill becomes the First Gentleman, it's fine.
Why is such a title even needed in the first place? In other countries, the spouse of the prime minister or president doesn't even have a title. This is true, regardless of that person's sex. If we get a female president, what will her husband's title be? ';First Man';? I think it's time to drop this designation entirely.
I love being a lady.
