There are many things which could occur:
Change in velocity, potential energy, temperature, phase, luminosity, and many others. Usually a combination of things occur.
Velocity- think billiards, the cue ball transferring its kinetic energy to another ball.
Potential Energy- think pumping water up into a water tower.
Temperature- Heating your home
Phase- Boiling water to steam
Luminosity- Fluorescent Light bulb
The list is endless, most times more than one effect occurs. (heat is the most common form of energy transfer)What occurs when energy is transferred from one object to another?
If you are talking heat....then it is an effect of entropy...where a balance or equilibrium is found between the two...there will be losses of course in the air....or the air will also increase in entropy by taking some of the heat from the objects.
If you are talking electrical discharge...then it would be through a medium...perhaps air or a wire....and there will be losses through the air. same thing for entropy...the air will take some of discharge. What occurs when energy is transferred from one object to another?
It depends on the nature of the receiving object. Usually itis absorbed and transformed in heat
