Photoshop doesn't have 'objects', and I'm not even sure what they are. But if you can isolate something on a picture in its own layer (easy to do) you can adjust the transparency of that layer (and do a million other things!)
If you select an area with the 'marquee' tool or lasso, and do a 'copy' and 'paste', the area is pasted into a new layer. You can then use the eraser tool to 'trim' that layer to just the area you want. You can then move, resize, etc. the layer or even drag it to another picture (to put a person in a photograph, put someone's head on someone else, etc). And that thing, whatever it is, can be edited and adjusted separately from the rest of the picture. What is Adobe Photoshop equivalent to corel photopaint's Object Transparency Tool?
photoshop does not have this tool, sad. and is not the layer opacity. Report Abuse

I've never used Corel Photopaint, but that tool sounds similar to Layer Opacity in Photoshop. Select the layer you want to adjust and change the Opacity value at the top of the layers palette.
If this isn't what you are looking for, you might give us a description of what the Object Transparency Tool does. I don't know many people that use both programs.
