What was the object of The Uninvited?

I don't get it. How could Anna be the one killing all these people and not knowing it and thinking Rachel did? And how could her friend across the room from her have been Mildred Kemp? How could Alex have been dead when she was there the whole time with Anna? And how could Anna have killed Rachel when it was Alex? What was the object of The Uninvited?
Anna was crazy, she was imagining all these things. If you think through the movie, noone ever talked to Alex except Anna. Anna killed all those people, but she was psyco so she just imagined everythng else. It is kind of confusing, just think through the whole movie knowing that Anna was imagining it. It makes sense if you think about it.

Anna didnt know she was killing them because she was crazy.

The friend, Mildred Kemp, was not really who Anna thought she was, once again, Anna just imagined that because she was insane.

Alex never killed Rachel, Anna did, but Anna turned insane after killing her mother and Alex on accident.

Pretty much all of your quistions are answered with the statedment ';Anna is insane';

Hope you understand now! What was the object of The Uninvited?
I know really.... but what i think it was was that she is Crazy and super smart. All the times you were seeing Alex is from her mind. If you watch closely nobody ever talks to Alex but Rachel. What i got from the ending was that she had planned the whole thing an knew she could get away with it because she is crazy. She told the doctor that she did what he told her to do....go back and finish what she started ( killing her stepmom and her Dad). She wanted to finish the murder of her new Stepmom, Mildred Kemp was just fuel for her lies. She used Mildred Kemp as (someone whose story she knew well having been in the institution together) so that when she told the lie it would sound like she was still really and truly crazy... which is exactly what she wanted. She wanted to murder people and get away with it and then go back to her happy environment @ the institution.
Did you watch the movie? seriously.

I'm gonna address them individually (your questions)

Anna was crazy. She had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She thought what she wanted; when she saw the nurse messing with her dad, she immediately saw her as the evil one. Then, when her mother and sister blew up, the thought was reassured in her head, like Rachel planned it.

Her friend could easily be Mildred Kemp because they're both crazy. Plain and simple.

Alex was, indeed, dead. When her mother blew up(sounds so insensitive, but whatevs) Anna needed someone to talk to, and her sister was the only one to think of. She needed her.

Alex didn't kill her. Did you notice in the movie that Alex was never in the same room with anyone other Anna (except her dad, and he wasn't paying attention)

It was Alex the whole time and she played both roles.

there ya go. Maybe you should watch the end again
i no this wont help, but i like after i watched that movie i was thinkin the exact same thing. how can anna have gone the whole entire movie thinking that her sister was still alive without anybody finding out.

its extremely confusing...

but it was a good movie all in all....just weird lol
